If you are experiencing difficulty running the example videos in Idea Source, be sure to follow the setup guidelines found in the document titled ╥Read First╙. If you continue to encounter problems running the QuickTime movies, we have provided a backup method to view these movies. Using MoviePlay¬, you can load the movie you want to watch independently of Idea Source. Because most load and playback problems with QuickTime movies occur for a variety of different reasons, (i.e. CD-ROM drive speed, available memory, active extentions, etc.) we want to assure that you have another option for viewing the demonstrations that Idea Source offers, just in case!
To use MoviePlay, simply click and drag a copy of "MoviePlay" to your hard drive, then double click the icon to launch it. After the player loads:
Ñ Pull down the FILE menu and choose OPEN.
Ñ At the open dialog box, click the DESKTOP button and then look for the name of your
Dynamic Graphics CD in the listing of available drives. Double click on the CD.
Ñ Double click on the IDEA SOURCE folder, and then on the name of the movie you
want to see.
Ñ After the movie loads, click once on the little forward arrow in the lower left
corner of the player screen. Press the same button to stop the movie or rewind and
fast forward using the buttons in the lower right.
AND IF THE MOVIES STILL RUN SLOW?
Ñ Copy the QuickTime movie to the hard drive and then run it using the
MoviePlayer (provided you have enough free space on your hard drive).
Ñ Click once on the MoviePlayer icon that you copied to the hard drive and then
choose GET INFO from the FILE menu at your Mac desktop. You will see a
section called MEMORY and the SUGGESTED SIZE and CURRENT SIZE, indicating how
much memory is allocated to MoviePlay. Double click in the CURRENT SIZE
area and enter a higher amount of memory (i.e. if you have 20 MEG of memory, try
raising the current size to to 13,000 or 15,000. You shouldn╒t need more than
that!)
